The Rainey Day Rising Scholars Program will recognize students with consistent academic achievement and invite eligible students into a capacity-based college-readiness cohort.
Eligibility should be clear, respectful, and easy for students and families to understand.
The pilot standardCore pilot criteria
Who the program is designed to serve.
Final grade levels, partner schools, and cohort size will be confirmed before enrollment opens.
The student attends a school included in the current program phase.
The student demonstrates consistent academic achievement at or above the program threshold.
The student is interested in preparing for a two-year or four-year college after high school.
Active participation begins only after required consent and accurate contact information are provided.
Meeting the criteria does not guarantee a place when a pilot cohort has reached capacity.

If something changes
The first response is a conversation.
Academic performance can change because life changes. The program’s goal is to understand what support may help—not to shame a student or make assumptions.
If a scholar falls below 3.0
- RDCF reaches out privately to the student and family.
- The conversation focuses on what changed and what may help.
- Appropriate school or community resources may be suggested.
- Continued participation follows the final pilot guidelines.
Scholarship opportunities may have different GPA, grade-level, residency, application, and selection requirements. Always review the criteria listed for the specific scholarship.
